Evaluation Of Biogas Investments In Turkey Discussed In Detail

ON 20 and 21 January 2017 a two half day seminars were organized in Izmir, one of the most beautiful cities in Turkey. The first day of the seminar was held at the Historical Air Gas Museum which produced electricity for over 100 years since 1862 for illuminating Izmir. The second day of the seminar was held in the modern Agro-fair centre in Gaziemir, İzmir. The whole event was funded by the “Promotion of Grid-Connected Renewable Energy in Turkey” project of Deutsche Gesellschaftfür Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) to increase awareness on Biogas investments in Turkey.

Over 100 people attended the seminars, entrepreneurs, civil servants, municipal officers, academicians, students and citizens. 11 presenters presented then discussed with the audience the importance, shortcomings, the currant biogas sector in Turkey. Large, sector leading companies shared their experience and know-how on Biogas and how it could be improved.

Valuable information and data was shared and collected during the two seminars and with the questionnaires that were handed out to the audience. A report on ‘Needs Analyses on Biogas Investments’ was prepared to conclude and share the information of this two day event.
